Imagine
sitting around with your family and listening to the stories of
weddings past….from parents, to grandparents, aunts and
uncles, and so on, as they reminisce about their special day as
though it happened just yesterday. Weddings that occur in your
family become a part of your heritage to pass down to each generation
for years and decades to come. They are a part of the identity
of your family tree and history.
All of the years of dreaming of your wedding day, all of the months
and years of preparation and planning, all come down to one magical
day that celebrates love and life. This should be a time to laugh,
cry, dance, and surround yourself with the ones you love. What
it should not be is a day of disappointment, anger, and frustration
because somebody you entrusted to make your day special has let
you down.
Celebrations Entertainment receives dozens of calls yearly from
desperate couples who have hired a DJ who becomes difficult to
deal with, will not honor requests, does not return phone calls
or show up for scheduled meetings, substitutes staff (resulting
in a different “assigned” DJ showing up), and has
even received calls during receptions where no DJ showed up at
all!
Any professional DJ contract should cover items such as remedies
for equipment failure, acts of nature, accidents, etc. to protect
the consumer. What we have done at Celebrations is to put a clause
in our contract that specifically says if the client is not happy
with the quality of our services, they are entitled to a partial
or full refund if they feel we did not live up to their expectations.
Who decides what is fair? You.
If a photographer forgets to take specific photos you wanted,
there would be a checklist to refer to that you gave him regarding
what photos you wanted, and you would have recourse. If the banquet
hall serves incorrect meals, there should be a menu selection
sheet to refer back to, and you would have recourse. With a DJ,
all the contract usually states is the time and location, and
that music will be provided. You have nothing to fall back on
if requests and special dances are ignored, not carried out, or
forgotten about.
This is where Celebrations is different. Many DJ’s may verbally
tell you that they would take
responsibility if something went wrong at your reception, but
Celebrations is the only company that you will find that puts
it in writing in every contract. We feel that this is the most
important way to show our clients that we will not treat their
function like “just another party”. By doing this,
we hold ourselves accountable to you from your initial phone call
right up to your last dance.
Our philosophy is simple, ethical, and honest:
“If we don’t do our job to the best of our ability
and your expectations, we don’t want your money.”
