Exciting situations…

Of course, we love to talk about the exciting jobs. A tower block with none people waiting behind me to get a door open; three Taser Units; and eight other police at a house, the cupboard full of guns or the rooms full of drugs. They are the interesting ones, to the non-locksmith. Getting in to a house full of Cannabis by slipping a latch is a bit weird, but not, in itself, exciting. It is also rare. I’ve dealt with a few says Rich of Locksmiths Manchester.

Most commonly, the excitement is in the skill involved in opening without damage, whatever locks and security has been set against you. Of course, no matter how good the locksmith, there cannot be a 100% perfect record. I still drill the occasional lock, for example the 1st gen.

ERA Fortress, a mercy killing, and, more recently, I’ve used my plug puller on two houses with euro locks that refused to cede. However, there is no thrill in that, even if you make the tool yourself. Any fool will get in with a drill, eventually. Sometimes can be hard work says Hugh of Locksmiths Manchester. Heck, it is fairly common to see this on warrants. One memorable job involved a unit with a right-hand Walsall.

The case had three holes of the 10mm type in it, and after some fighting with a lot of jammed up bits, I opened the door without further damage. Another brilliant example was a warrant where the attending locksmith had determined that the door was high security, with an electronic lock, and receiver. Great work reckons John of Locksmiths Manchester.
